FAQs

Product Performance

How Light is BIGBAHN's Lightweight Multilayer Board?

The density of the lightweight multilayer board (typically made of mixed hardwood or poplar substrate) is controlled at approximately 400–430 kg/m³.

For a standard sheet size of 1220 × 2440 mm with a thickness of 15 mm, the weight per sheet is only about 17 kg (with a tolerance of ±1 kg), which is significantly better than traditional poplar-eucalyptus plywood.

How does the Nail Holding Power Vary Among Different Substrate Materials?

Nail holding power is closely related to material density. The general ranking is as follows: poplar-eucalyptus plywood (density 550–580 kg/m³) > lightweight multilayer board > melamine board (approx. 350–390 kg/m³).

Users need to strike a balance between "extreme weight reduction" and "structural stability" based on their specific priorities and application requirements.

Can PET Foam Board Replace Wooden Panels?

Yes, it can.

PET foam board is a thermoplastic polymer foam with a closed-cell structure, featuring extremely low water absorption, excellent fatigue resistance, and chemical stability. It is not only lighter in weight but also 100% recyclable, making it an ideal eco-friendly alternative to some wood materials in RV interior applications.

Eco-friendly & Certification

Are BIGBAHN's Products ENF-rated?

Yes.

BIGBAHN's core products (e.g., poplar substrates, lightweight substrates, multilayer boards) can be supplied with ENF-grade (aldehyde-free additive-free) standards.

In addition, the product is FSC® forest certified (ensuring sustainable sources) and JAS F☆☆☆☆ certified in Japan.

How is the Fire Performance of the Panels?

BIGBAHN offers materials that comply with German industrial standards.

For example, the panels can achieve the S4 fire protection rating according to DIN 5510-2. In addition, PET foam board features outstanding FST properties (Fire resistance, low Smoke, non-Toxic, odorless), which enhances the safety of RV interiors.

How Environmentally Friendly Are Polyester Fiber Acoustic Panels?

The formaldehyde emission of this panel is only 0.05 mg/L (far below the national E1 class limit of ≤1.5 mg/L), meeting the safety standards for direct use in human-occupied areas.

Customization & After-sales

Does BIGBAHN Offer Local Support Overseas?

Yes, it does.

The company has an office and warehouse in Germany — Bigbahn GmbH (Address: Am Sportpark 4, 97246 Eibelstadt), which enables efficient logistics and customer support for the European market.

What Are the Benefits of Shaped Panels for RV Design?

Shaped panels (such as L-shaped, J-shaped, and U-shaped curved panels) use curved designs to increase spatial depth and optimize space utilization.

They reduce sharp edges and corners, enhancing the softness and safety of the RV interior.

What Surface Finish Options (Films) Does BIGBAHN Offer?

We offer a variety of finishes including PP, PVC, PET, HPL (fire-resistant laminate), decorative paper, and acrylic.

Among these, the PET finish features extremely high rigidity and hardness — it does not crack during processing, nor does the edging crack, while offering vibrant colors and a strong three-dimensional appearance.
